IPSecure has made a dynamic yet strategic hire, rounding out its leadership team with a talented trailblazer who will strengthen the company’s continued promise to provide cutting edge Cybersecurity services to its partners and clients.
Gunderson comes to IPSecure after most recently serving as Deputy Director for Cyberspace Operations at 24th Air Force, JBSA, TX and HQ Air Force Special Operations Command Director of Communications Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) at Hurlburt Field, FL. While at 24AF he led a team that protected Air Force classified and unclassified computer networks for an estimated 640k users.
His extensive experience and service with the military began when he entered active duty at Keesler AFB, MS. Colonel Gunderson’s portfolio of experience includes Chief Northern European Plans, Headquarters United States Air Forces Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Network Engineer, Combat Communications, California Air National Guard and Information Technology Directorate IMA, Edwards Air Force Base, CA. In addition, in 2008 he was the Chief of Plans and Operations for the 2009 Presidential Inauguration in Washington DC, and in 2009, joined the DoD Space Shuttle Recovery Team as Incident Commander in support of NASA Dryden.
In his civilian work capacity, Gunderson was the managing director for a private equity investment firm and served as COO of a regional telecommunications company headquartered in California. He’s held sales and executive positions for both a top Fortune 500 company and a Silicon Valley start-up firm.
Gunderson’s work history is relevant and promising to the collective fight in the Cybersecurity community in San Antonio, and nationwide, as we protect and serve the citizens of the U.S. through cutting edge Cybersecurity technology.

As Chief Innovation Officer (CIO), Gunderson will play a critical role in helping IPSecure implement innovative, efficient and effective solutions that improves their service delivery.

In his spare time, Gunderson enjoys mountain biking and playing guitar for a local band - often playing at Viva Taco Land in San Antonio, TX.
